Why BE THE GAME?

Happy August to all of you!

It has been a while since my last post. I do have a good reason though! I have been out campaigning and building our “Power of Sport” Campaign across Canada and the U.S. with some great results to date!

Many people ask me this question during my days:
Why did I launch BE THE GAME?
Well, here is my answer!

- To promote the fun in sport
- To promote the gift of sport
- To promote the power of sport
- To teach our principles that BE THE GAME was built upon, LEADERSHIP – PASSION – SPORTSMANSHIP – ENERGY
- and most importantly, to be successful in business so that we can sponsor thousands of children and MORE in minor sports every year!

This is why our “Power of Sport” Campaign was launched and this is why we need and want your help so please read on!

Our campaign goal is to sell 1 million decals to raise over $2 million dollars to support children in sport, rebuild parks, arena upgrades and more! How will we get there? Well with individual orders, team orders, corporate sponsors and community events, we are gaining great speed and momentum! We will not stop until we reach our goal! I personally have vowed not to shave until we reach our first 10,000 decals sold so please visit our link and support our cause and help us help kids play!!

Why did I title todays blog “Why BE THE GAME?”

Well, in order to reach our goals and vision here at BTG, I have made the decision to put a lot more effort into building our minor sports team fundraising programs and really, why wouldn’t I? Check out the benefits!

- Help teams raise their funds to have a great year in sport!
- Teach the players about and what they learn by participating in minor sports; The “Power of Sport”
- Celebrate the teams accomplishments
- Promote the team on our site in the “Making a Difference” section! (kids love this!)
- The teams efforts not only raises their funds but in doing so, because we give back from our profits, every fundraising project always results in at least one disadvantaged child being sponsored in minor sports right in the teams community!
- This teaches the players/team many life lessons and leaves a long lasting positive impression on the players, coaches and parents!

As a parent, I am proud anytime my children learn valuable life lessons and I also know what my children learn from participating in minor sports so if we can combine the two together I believe that our fundraising programs can be a leader when it comes to minor sports fundraising and the company of choice every year your team needs to raise their funds!

So, having said that, in focusing on our programs, it is my personal goal to partner with a minimum of 100 minor sports teams across Canada and the U.S. this year to help them raise their funds for a successful year and to help them understand that they are not only raising their funds but also helping other children play sport! Something the whole team can be very proud of!

1 Million Stickers to BE THE DIFFERENCE for many!

Happy Monday to all my faithful readers!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend wherever in the World you exist!

Today, I want to talk about some exciting news that is happening here at BE THE GAME……

The announcement:

As some of you may know we are hosting our first annual BE THE GAME DAY for KIDS in Oakville, ON Canada on Saturday June 18th. On this day, our goal is to have raised $200,000 to support disadvantaged children in minor sports in communities across Canada and beyond. A special thank yo to Starbucks and the 85 stores that have partnered with us from Windsor, ON to Toronto, ON who are supporting our goal!

Leading up to this day and as our new staple program/fundraiser we will be promoting and selling our new BE THE GAME vehicle stickers (or wherever you want to stick yours). This is to raise brand awareness and much needed funds so that we may continue our vision here at BTG and that is to promote the power of sport and the life changing benefits it carries with it and in doing so, continue to support disadvantaged children in minor sports!

Determination

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I would like to talk about something that I am very up close and personal with….DETERMINATION!

It is funny, when we talk about being determined about something, what does that really mean to someone? what does that really mean to you? I would love to read your feedback about something you are determined towards.

I believe determination is a skill set you develop rather than being born with. I believe that determination is something that you do or do not develop through your own life experiences. You want some good news? Today, if you are not determined, you can change it right now! Yes, RIGHT NOW! How? It is all about choosing to wake up today and deciding that you are going to pursue your passion, your dreams, your desires. It is about training your mind and in my case, my mind and heart and choosing to GO FOR IT!

Are you ready to make that decision today? Are you ready to reach deep inside, challenge yourself to go to the next level in your life? If you are ready then I would love for you to do something challenging today that is out of your comfort zone! Whatever it may be, it is your comfort zone and I am asking you to do push beyond!

For myself, I run a business that requires me to be sharp and determined everyday and to keep my mind sharp, I challenge myself physically and this also means mentally and this has been a huge addition to my weekly routine. Allow me to explain: and remember, this is from a man who battled depression for 2+years so no matter where you are right now, YOU CAN, YOU CAN, YOU CAN do this!

I began running 4 years ago and have run my share of 5k’s, 10k’s and a Half Marathon. I lost 35lbs and I pushed myself beyond my limits and I am now a runner and I love it. I also cross train with various physical exercises however I recently joined Crossfit Connection in Burlington and this was love at first site! It is completely me! Why? Crossfit training asks you to give everything you have for 30 minutes or so for the “WOD” (Workout of the Day) and when you have given everything you have, Crossfit asks you to push a little more, a little farther, a little harder and you know what happens? YOU DO IT! and why? because you push yourself out of your comfort zone and realize that you are capable of so much more then you give yourself credit for. BE THE STRENGTH YOU DESIRE!

So in closing, if you want to improve your overall YOU, then push yourself and do it now! We are blessed to do incredible things with our mind and body if we “choose” to do so!

BE THE GAME was born and exists today because of my team and the people I have in my life but also because of my sheer determination to succeed and to make a difference in our world through the power of my brand, programs and the message they carry and the hope it is providing.

I wish all of you nothing but success in fulfilling your dreams and desires.
